One of the most intellectual comedies of all time. the princess bride will stimulate you on the third viewing as well as the three hundredth. you will watch this film three hundred times. or more. trust me, this film appears to be a child's story. but it is not. that is just its wrapping. this movie runs far deeper than apparent from the surface. the surface is visible from one or two viewings, five to seven are required to really get at the heart of the movie, to truly understand. this film is much like donnie darko in this way. the princess bride 87, along with donnie darko 01 and suture 93, are in my top ten films. actually, they are in my top five. (but, like most, i trust, my top five contains something on the order of a few dozen films.) you will love this film and its lines will become a part of your daily verbage. If you have seen this film and don't think it is awesome I can't imagine what is so. In any case I would heartily recommend this to any and all potential viewers.
